Nurturing Faith and Knowledge: The Journey of Madrasahtul Islamiyah
The greatest investment that any community can make is to invest in its children. If we invest in today’s children and develop them into people who are firm in their Emaan (faith), who cherish human values, who honour their parents & elders and become a treasured asset to the society – then such an investment will earn tremendous returns to their parents and benefit the entire Ummah.
Alhamdulillah with the grace of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala, “We are deeply honoured and pleased to announce the establishment of Madrasahtul Islamiyah” in Kilbirnie, Wellington. The primary objective of this Madrasah is to teach Qura’n with the most adequate Tajweed (pronunciation rules) and Makhraj (learning and practicing the origin of pronunciation).
This Madrasah is also aimed to deliver one of the most recommended Islamic Education course series, the “Tas-heel Syllabus”, available to date for our children – ensuring at the same time that their regular schooling is not disturbed. The value of this curriculum has been recognized worldwide and is being used in numerous parts of the world. Not only that, we are also focused to bring you the best Islamic environments for your children where they will be able to learn and practice Islamic teaching, etiquettes (Ad’aab o Ikhlaq) and moral values to become an example to the society.
Need for Madrashatul Islamiyah
Maktabs and Madaaris are an easy way for the Ummah to learn the main aspects of Deen (the orders of Allah سبحانه وتعالى and way of the Prophet محمد صلى عليه وسلم). Along with reciting Qur’aan, learning of Aqaaid (doctrine), I’baadaat, Mu’amaalaat, Akhlaaq, and Mu’ashrat are essential practices and Islamic knowledge necessary for every Muslim to learn and through Madrasah it has been made common and easy among the Ummah to acquire this knowledge.
Respected Elders and Brothers, Our manner of Taleem is exactly the same as it was in the early days of Islam. The Sahabah رضي اللّٰه عنه would learn the Holy Qur’aan directly from the Holy (محمد ﷺ) both Naazirah (reciting by looking inside the Qur’aan) and Hifz (memorisation of the Qur’aan). This manner of teaching the Holy Qur’aan is so significant and important, that the Holy Prophet (محمد ﷺ) himself initiated it. In other words the foundation of our whole Deen is based upon this Taleem. This is why the Prophet (محمد ﷺ) formally established these Maktabs and sent senior Sahabah رضي اللّٰه عنه to teach at these places.
